Website Updates
I'm updating the backend of the website. It seems that much personal information and forum posts have been lost. Sorry about that. I'll try to recover what I can in the coming days.
Also, I'm trying to find the best way to organize the documentation on St Thomas that I've been collecting. You may notice that the links under "Archive" are becoming more useful.
As always, please send me anything that you have on St Thomas.
St Thomas Historical Data
Though I (Dylan Schrader) spend most of my time studying as a seminarian for the Diocese of Jefferson City, I am still engaged in the process of gathering information about St. Thomas's history along with Chris Vomund. In addition to using this information to compile a history of St. Thomas, I would also like to make many of the raw materials available online. This means scanning things in, etc., which is a very time-consuming process. Check back from time to time, and you will see the amount of content on this website grow.
St Thomas History
I want to compile as much information as possible about St Thomas history. I hope that perhaps we can create a book on St Thomas or at least something fairly comprehensive for this website.
I need your help, obviously, since I have only my own experience at St Thomas to go on. I want everything: names, anecdotes, any documents you can spare. It shouldn't be all just facts, either. Please, send me every story that you remember. Get together with your classmates and tape record the conversation.
Improved Archives
Fellow Alumni,
You may notice The Voice (Archive) in the menu to the left. I have put some of the issues of The Voice from the last years of St. Thomas online. Also, the archive of the old editions of The Anchor has been improved with a much easier way to view the old yearbooks.
If you have old copies of The Voice or The Anchor that you want to scan, please let me know!
Site Upgrade
I will try to upgrade the software that runs this website within the next week or so. There may be unforeseen problems, but I hope that it will be worth it. An upgrade will hopefully allow me to install a better way of organizing scanned-in copies of "The Anchor" and "The Voice." I will try to continue the project of scanning some of these along with other relevant documents, though this process is very time-consuming.
On a related note, if you want to scan old yearbooks or old copies of "The Voice," that would be great!
St Thomas Wikipedia Page Needs Help
The St Thomas page on Wikipedia needs accurate and well-written information. Michael Wegs has posted much information from his website http://www.cometothestable.org/ about allegations of sexual abuse associated with St Thomas. While we should leave accurate information about the sexual abuse allegations on the Wikipedia page, this information needs to be cited properly and needs to be relevant to St Thomas.
St. Thomas on Wikipedia
Fellow Alumni,
I have created a Wikipedia page for St. Thomas. Wikipedia is a free, online encyclopedia that anyone can edit.
The Anchor
I'm in the process of scanning in some of the old yearbooks. I'll begin archiving them here on the website as I get them done. You can see what's up so far at http://www.stasalumni.org/the-anchor.
First Edition of the Voice
The first edition of The Voice is underway. What exists so far is posted here on the website. When it is completed, a PDF document will be made suitable for printing for those who wish to print a copy.
As always, feel free to contribute whatever you'd like.
Especially, let me know if anything needs to be added to the news section. Otherwise, you may post it in the Forums.
New Website Begun
Welcome to the new St. Thomas Aquinas Preparatory Seminary Alumni Association website. Feel free to register for an account and check back frequently for updates as new content is added and things begin to take shape.
